to provide interior design that promotes harmony and functionality

Annabella Nassetti, owner of A Living Concept – a leading Interior Design company – , has been selected as the interior designer for the ‘Arborea Living’ project, a community project based in Monza, on the outskirts of Milan, which will see over 1200 people come together in a sustainable living initiative that aims to promote unity between the built environment and nature, and provide services which enhance quality of life for families regardless of income.
The Arborea Living project – conceived of by Gennandrea Mancone in 2006, will represent the fruition of a dream that has required years of tenacious and committed planning and development. The core features of the project will be the provision of 700 family flats over a 66,000m2 space, incorporating a range of services – including city shuttle, car charging, concierge and package storage – whilst ensuring absolute congruence and harmony with the natural environment around.
Also key to the project will be the provision of affordable apartments that still represent the pinnacle of contemporary style and functional living. In line with this focus on ‘intersection’ between functionality, aesthetics and cost-consciousness, Annabella Nassetti was selected by virtue of the congruence her own design philosophy holds with the goals of the project, and her proven track record of enduring, timeless design that is delivered to the highest standards of quality, reliability and craftsmanship.
Arborea Living project was originally inspired by the idea that lived environments are one of the biggest contributors to mental health. Planned poorly, they can reduce quality of life in subtle but significant ways. Planned effectively – to maximise comfort, utility, ease and harmonic living with the natural world – they can boost moods, make people feel more productive and enriched, and enhance the bonds between people and their communities.
Annabella was appointed because of her deep recognition of these things and most importantly her understanding of this complex and fundamental relationship between environment and community which is perfectly in-line with the Arborea Project’s goals.
Speaking of her involvement in the project, Annabella Nassetti said: “The Arborea Project is inspirational in what it aims to do, and I am proud and excited to be involved. The focus on the ‘natural’ – with synergy and fusion through the use of dynamic forms and natural materials – is vital not just for mental wellbeing, but physical wellbeing also. For me sustainability is multidimensional; ecological, logistical, practical, economic, cultural and social – and this is at the forefront of my designs: I want to create something that endures on every level, bringing value and meaning to those who occupy the space.”
The project – for which construction has already begun – is due for completion in 2022.
