Luxury to me means bespoke, which can be up to very extreme levels. What sets this level is the detail in the design and the quality of the craftsmen producing the furniture and finishes.

The reception room has to feel very comfortable and luxurious. Beautifully designed sofa suites upholstered with sumptuous fabrics are well placed in a luxury London flat. A great entertainment system is very important. On many occasions, I have designed home cinemas that at a touch of a button transform a room completely. Proper cocktail bars are also great for these occasions!
A recognizable kitchen make like Boffi or Bulthaup is important and the appliances used have to be either Gaggenau or Wolf/Subzero. A brushed metal finish is very en vogue at the moment. The kitchen worktop would need to be a luxury natural stone, but if you are someone that likes to cook then this might not be too practical in which case you can go for a manmade material which is similar, but more resistant.
The master suite needs to resemble the luxury of a 5-star hotel. An extremely comfortable bed with a luxurious headboard with separate low-level corner seating will feel and look amazing. An upholstered wall panelling with an inbuilt TV will be good for entertainment. The master bathroom has to be extremely comfortable and opulent. A home spa is what we all want and luxurious materials with interesting focal points will deliver. I personally like dark mosaic and marble because with good contrast lighting these bathrooms can become really special, relaxing and romantic.Special wall and floor finishes make the property feel very special and unique.
