Planning Information
With all building work, the owner of the property in question is ultimately responsible for complying with the relevant planning rules and building regulations and we are there to guide you in every step of the way. Planning consent is normally required if you want to :
- build something new
- make a major change to your building for example creating an extension
- change the use of your building
Permitted Developments
There are also permitted development rights which derive from a general planning permission granted not by the local authority but by Parliament. The permitted development rights which apply to many common projects for houses do not apply to flats, maisonettes or other buildings.
Listed Building
Listed building consent is required for all works of demolition, alteration or extension to a listed building that affect its character as a building of special architectural or historic interest.
